About

One reviewer, a lot of indie games.

Wishlist or Not reviews new indie games on PC. Right now that’s one game designer and developer, playing each game to the end and writing up whether it’s worth your money.

What we do

We review games from independent studios and small publishers, mostly on PC. Each review answers one question: should this go on your wishlist? The answer is buy it, wishlist it or skip it. After that comes the reasoning, plus a closer look at one part of the design, because that’s the stuff a developer tends to notice.

No first-hour reviews. No “it depends.”

Who reviews

One person for now: a game designer and developer who plays every game reviewed here and makes every call. If more reviewers join, they’ll be listed here.

Our conflicts, up front

  • Our reviewer is making an action rogue-lite. Any review of an action rogue-lite says so, and that game never gets promoted here.
  • Reviews are drafted with AI from our play notes, then edited by hand. The opinions, verdict and score are always ours, never the AI’s. Details are on the ethics page.
